Church employee arrested, charged with felony sexual abuse charges involving children, police say

LAKE JACKSON, Texas (KTRK) -- A church employee has been arrested following 18 felony grand jury indictments for sexual-related offenses involving children, according to the Lake Jackson Police Department.

Police say 25-year-old Adrian Gerard Johnson, of Angleton, was taken into custody on Monday at 8 p.m. He is currently held at the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office Jail without bond.

A three-month interagency investigation into Johnson was sparked by a complaint from an alleged victim. According to law enforcement, Johnson is accused of assaulting multiple female victims between 2020 and 2024.

A detective with Lake Jackson PD confirmed that Johnson was employed by Destiny Church during the time of the alleged incidents.

Police say that this case is an active investigation.
