FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 20-year-old is charged with intoxication manslaughter after a crash that killed three people and seriously injured two others near Rosenberg in March, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

Juan Manuel Narvaez Yepez was arrested on April 10 and charged with intoxication manslaughter as well as two counts of intoxication assault, authorities said.

The crash happened on the morning of March 15 along US-90. Authorities said a family of five was in a Hyundai Santa Fe, and was driving eastbound on US-90, when the driver of a Toyota Tacoma crossed the grass center median and hit the family's vehicle head-on.

As a result, 18-year-old Temiloluwa Virtue Alu, who was driving the family's vehicle, as well as 44-year-old Ebenezer Idunuoluwa Delight and 17-year-old Isaac Oluwadamilola Alabi died at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities said a 14-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy suffered serious bodily injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Narvaez was also hospitalized before being taken into custody.

"This is a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating consequences of impaired driving," said Sheriff Eric Fagan. "Three lives were lost, and a family has been forever changed. We urge everyone to make responsible choices, never get behind the wheel if you've been drinking.

The crash remains under investigation.
