Person killed in 18-wheeler crash, shutting down all I-45 NB lanes before Cypresswood, HCSO says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A deadly crash along a portion of the North Freeway is causing significant delays Tuesday morning.

According to Houston TranStar, the wreck was reported at 5 a.m. on I-45 North northbound at Parramatta Lane.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the incident involved a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler. The sheriff also confirmed one person had died.

TranStar images show the northbound lanes of the freeway been shut down just before Cypresswood.

Gonzalez said all traffic is being diverted to the feeder road.

It's unclear what led up to the crash.
