Connecting generations at Senior Senior Prom

ROSENBERG, Texas -- It's prom season, and in Fort Bend County, one event is bringing generations together.

Senior Senior Prom pairs Lamar Consolidated High School seniors with Fort Bend County senior citizens for a red-carpet celebration designed to spark connection and community.

Rick Branek is the Field Operations Manager for Fort Bend County Meals on Wheels and helped organize the annual event.

"From a zero to ten, it was probably a 12," Branek said about the event. "We had some seniors who are in their 90s getting up there and dancing, and of course, we had 17 and 18-year-olds that were dancing as well."

Student Gisell Diaz told us she was expecting something quieter, "I was expecting a library, maybe some more card games, but the old people are really getting turned up."

One golden guest shared, "I may need Tylenol tomorrow, but I'm going to dance today!"

The event was held at Bud O'Shieles Community Center in Rosenberg. In the video above, experience Senior Senior Prom from the red carpet experience to the beautiful prom attire.
