HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Artist Kara Crowley shares the stories that shape her surroundings through her art. The New Orleans native often creates portraits that highlight members of her community.
"I really love to create visual storytelling within my art. I want to emphasize more on black identity, as well as our ancestry and culture," Crowley said.
Over time, the 31-year-old explored different art techniques and developed an interest in wood-burning.
In the video above, Kara discusses why she finds this technique soothing and shares why she encourages people to touch her art.
