
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said six people were injured when a shooting broke out at a house party in northwest Houston on Saturday.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers received multiple shooting calls just after 9 p.m. on Saturday in the 7300 block of Parkes Street in the Acres Homes area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they were met with a large crowd gathered in the yard for a house party, officials said. According to police, officers discovered that six people had been injured when a shooting broke out.
Officials said that Houston Fire Department crews responded to the scene and took one man who was shot to the hospital, adding that multiple people who were also shot took themselves to different hospitals as well.
Out of the six people shot, one is in critical condition, according to officials, with the other five victims expected to be OK. None of the victims was a child, according to investigators.
HPD said that it has one person detained in connection with the incident. Investigators said they suspect there were multiple shooters involved.
