3 bystanders caught in crossfire of gun battle near Prairie View A&M University, police say

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (KTRK) -- The Prairie View Police Department is investigating a shooting that left three people injured near Prairie View A&M University on Tuesday evening.

According to Prairie View PD, officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the Panther Hill Apartments on Richards Road at 6:45 p.m., where two vehicles were involved in a shooting that left three victims injured. Detectives describe the victims as bystanders who were shot in the crossfire.

Police say that three victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Law enforcement says an investigation is ongoing as details are limited on information regarding any suspects involved.
