2 people injured in shooting at parking lot takeover in northeast Harris County, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS (KTRK) -- Two people were injured during an early-morning shooting at a parking lot takeover in a northeast Harris County parking lot, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at about 1:15 a.m. on Friday in the parking lot of the Home Depot off the Eastex Freeway and Little York Road.

According to HCSO Det. Ryan Hilz, an altercation occurred before the shooting, and one victim drove away and eventually was found off the Beltway and rushed to the hospital.

The second victim, Hilz says, went into a nearby Whataburger and asked for help.

ABC13 spoke off camera with an employee who said the injured man walked into the restaurant and asked for a cup of water before stating he had been shot and then lifted up his shirt, exposing the wound.

Paramedics responded to the restaurant and took the man, whom the employee says appeared to be 19 or in his early 20s, to the hospital.

HCSO said it's investigating the cause of the shooting and has no details on a suspect.
