Suspect wanted after shots fired into crowd in NW Harris County

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Harris County deputies are searching for the suspect who they say fired shots at a crowd outside an apartment complex Tuesday morning.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened at about 2:18 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Cornerstone Village Drive near Bammel North Houston.

Sgt. Miguel Salinas said that witnesses reported at least 10 shots were fired into a crowd, injuring two people.

They were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK, according to deputies.

Sgt. Salinas said the sheriff's office is working on leads, but at this point, they have not identified a suspect, nor do they know why the shooting happened.

The sergeant said there weren't any noise complaints leading up to the incident.
