HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Harris County Precinct 4 Constables arrested two people suspected of bringing a 14-year-old to the Houston area for prostitution.
The arrests happened in a motel off the North Freeway near FM 1960.
Investigators said the girl was a runaway from Chicago and being forced into prostitution.
Deputy constables said 20-year-old Teresa Henry and 24-year-old Centurrie Deshunn Garrett used social media to convince the girl to come to Houston.
The pair allegedly advertised the girl as a 19-year-old on a sexually-oriented website. Undercover officers saw her photo and set up a meeting at the North Villa Inn where she was rescued.
"Basically, what we had is a 14-year-old female that was lured down to Houston by these other two females and basically put into prostitution here in Houston," Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman said.
Henry is charged with human trafficking of a minor and compelling prostitution of a minor.
Authorities said when they met with the girl, Henry was also in the room orchestrating the deal. Garrett was found in an adjoining room with her 6-week-child, who was later taken into CPS custody.
"The main thing is we rescued the 14-year-old girl and we got her off the streets in a safe environment. We got these two suspects off the streets and in jail, [so now] the streets of Harris County are much safer," Herman said.
The girl is in protective custody and will be reunited with family in Chicago.
