Former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is weighing in on HERO, Houston's Equal Rights Ordinance. Proposition 1, the HERO vote, is the subject of a tweet Clinton's camp published today.

The signed tweet says, "No one should face discrimination for who they are or who they love-I support efforts for equality in Houston & beyond. #HERO #YesOnProp1 -H"

The Democratic presidential hopeful was in Houston earlier this month for a private fundraiser near Rice University. We're told the former first lady talked about her support for the ordinance at that event with Houston Mayor Annise Parker.

Supporters of HERO insist the ordinance protects people by outlawing discrimination in these 15 categories: sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, familial status, marital status, military status, religion, disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, and pregnancy.

Early voting is underway in the City of Houston. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd. For polling locations, visit the Harris County Clerk's website at harrisvotes.com.
