FAA: One dies in plane crash in San Jacinto County

SHEPHERD, TX (KTRK) -- A private plane has crashed in San Jacinto County, according to authorities.

The plane crashed after 4pm near Lake Water Wheel Airport on Highway 223.

According to an FAA spokesperson, one person is dead and another was injured in the crash.

FAA investigators are en route to the scene. According to officials, the aircraft was an unregistered home built kit plane.
