Houston man charged for beating roommate's dog

Man charged with animal cruelty

HOUSTON, Texas -- Roommate disputes aren't uncommon, but this one put a dog in harm's way.

Michael Eduardo Cabrera, 27, is now facing 3rd degree animal cruelty charges.

Witnesses say over the weekend, they saw Cabrera hit and kick his roommate's dog.

He also struck the dog with a broom.

His bond has been set at $5,000.
