Lines snake around the recovery center in Pasadena as hundreds seek help

PASADENA, Texas (KTRK) -- Hundreds of people are waiting in line a disaster recovery center in Pasadena this morning.

The delays continue after hundreds of people were reported waiting in line for hours Monday.

"I'm trying to take care of my daughter and my mom. I really need it so this is a good opportunity to be in line right now. I came yesterday and the line was longer than this, and I just left. But today I'm going to stay," said Nicholas Bankheart.

It wasn't just the line. People say it took a while just to get through traffic. Police sent the officers they could spare to keep the crowd in order.

"I feel like it was definitely worth the wait considering the losses that we took during the storm. We lost a lot. We spent a lot preparing for the storm," said one person who waited hours.

Here are a few tips that may help you get the D-SNAP dollars quicker: Bring ID, bank account routing information and a list of storm damages.
