HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Timoteo Espinoza returned to work on Friday, after he was visibly shaken. Espinoza said robbers walked up to him on Thursday night when he was unloading a truck at Affordable Furniture off of the North Freeway and West Road.
His son, Pablo, translated for his father, saying his father was terrified. Espinoza said the suspects put a gun to the back of his head and forced him to the ground.
"They asked him for everything, they took his shoes off and everything," said Pablo Espinoza.
After that, he sat not knowing what would happen.
"He was thinking about his family and everything at that moment," said Pablo Espinoza.
Police arrived short after just as the suspects were leaving. Officers say at least two of the five suspects pointed a gun at them. Officers fired their guns, hitting four of them. Police say at this time it does not appear that the suspects fired off any shots.
Two of the suspects died. One has been identified as Scott Bennett. Two others are in jail. They are Lontay Young and Ross Anthony White-Leonard.
Both have long wrap sheets. Young, a documented gang member, has been in and out of jail for more than a decade. He's convicted of several robberies, indecent exposure and trespassing.
White-Leonard also has a criminal history including drug charges and theft. The other suspect, Barry Jones, is in the hospital and will be charged once he's released.
Timoteo and his son are just thankful everyone else was okay.
"Thank god for the police that came," said Pablo Espinoza.
