Woman found dead in southeast Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman was found dead inside a southeast Houston home early this morning.

Houston police were called to the home on Belneath near MLK around 8:30am.

Neighbors say the woman lived at the home with her young son who is 10 to 12 years old. The boy was apparently home when the woman was killed.

The boy is talking with police.

Neighbor Eura-Watts Williams tells us the woman did have a boyfriend and he may have been the last person to have seen her alive. She said, "He was there last night. He left when he always normally leaves...before day...that's the last thing I had seen at her house. ... I just like to take notice of what's going on in the neighborhood because I'm here."

Homicide investigators are still on the scene, speaking with family and friends and the little boy who some said looked traumatized.
