SMITHFIELD, NC -- Police say a teen is charged with misusing the 911 system, apparently because she was upset over being grounded by her mother.

Officers went to 16-year-old Jasmyne Keyonia Davis' home just after midnight Tuesday after someone called from the residence screaming.

But investigators said when they arrived, they discovered Davis called because she was unhappy her mom put her on restriction and took away her cell phone.

Davis was booked into the Johnston County Jail under a $2,500 bond. She has an August court date.
