Autopsy results reveal new information in case of unarmed Calif. teen shot by cops

FRESNO, CA -- More than a month after Fresno, California police officers shot and killed Dylan Noble, new evidence could explain the teen's behavior.

The 19-year-old was unarmed when two officers fired multiple rounds. Police later said Noble refused to respond to their commands. On Tuesday, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office released his autopsy results. The autopsy revealed that Noble had been drinking and may have used drugs before being pulled over.

Noble's blood alcohol content was 0.12-- that's above the legal limit of 0.08. Tests also found traces of benzoylecgonine-- the primary component of cocaine in his system. The compound is also known to be found in some prescription medication.

Officers told Action News they gave dozens of commands asking Noble to drop to the ground and show his hands. When he didn't comply they fired multiple shots. Three with a pistol and one with a shotgun.

The Coroner's Office said all four rounds remained in his body. He had injuries to his small and large intestines, his right lung, kidney, and liver.

It is not clear which shot actually killed him. The cause of death is still listed as a homicide.
