Motive behind man's fatal shooting in north Houston remains mystery

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We have new information this morning about a deadly shooting in north Houston. Police say the victim was shot outside of his car and then his killers left him to die on the street.

It happened around 9:30pm Friday on Mill Stream near Imperial Valley.

When police found the man's body, he was just inches away from his vehicle. Investigators say the man lived nearby, but they are not sure why he stopped on Mill Stream and got out of his vehicle.

"We're not sure if there was an altercation between the shooter and our victim, or if maybe our victim was going to get robbed and he was being set up. We don't know technically what the motive is at this time," said C.G. Cardenas with the Houston Police Department.

Witnesses told police they saw two men run off after the shooting.
