HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Ex-millionaire Robert Durst, 71, turned himself in on Wednesday evening, two days after allegedly urinating on a rack of candy bars at a Rice Village CVS.
Investigators have said the Monday night incident was caught on surveillance video. Durst left before officers arrived. He was there to pick up a prescription and reportedly peed on the merchandise on his way out of the store.
Durst is charged with criminal mischief. He posted a cash bond and left probable cause court without making any statements or answering any questions.
Durst is said to have ruined roughly $100 worth of candy.
The former New York real estate heir has a checkered criminal past that includes a tampering with evidence charge. In 2003, he was cleared of murder charges related to the 2001 death of his neighbor, Morris Black.
