MANVEL, TX (KTRK) -- Friday's gloomy weather mirrored the mood of friends and family who all gathered at Manvel High School to remember three precious lives lost.
Students released hundreds of balloons into the sky in honor of Sara Silvas, Zori Petrova and Josh Rodriguez. The three teens were killed in a fiery wreck earlier this week in Brazoria County.
Students wanted to do something special in memory of their friends. Teens sang songs and read poems. The victims' families attended the special ceremony, too.
We kept our cameras at a respectful distance during this emotional time.
"These three students have left an incredible mark on Manvel High School. They were leaders, they were student athletes, they were friends, they were vibrant by all descriptions. They loved life and they are dearly, dearly missed," said Daniel Combs with Alvin ISD's communications department.
Combs tells us he is extremely proud of the students at Manvel High for the way they are coming together during this time of tragedy.
