HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston doctor is facing questions from the DEA after a raid at her office in the Museum District.

On Wednesday, Dr. Melanie Mencer-Parks was placed in handcuffs and escorted out of her office by the DEA. The doctor was placed into a Harris County sheriff's deputy patrol car and taken away.

Back at her office, agents with the Tactical Diversion Squad confiscated several boxes and more. It was a shock to a couple of patients who were not expecting to see the DEA on the day of their appointment.

According to information in her office, Dr. Mencer-Parks offered anything from facials to botox and even weight loss surgery.

However, Eyewitness News did some digging and found out the doctor has been in trouble with the law before. In August 2014 she was charged for DWI out of Brazoria County.

Mencer-Parks currently has a pending case open for conspiracy to commit Medicare fraud.
