Correctional officer accused of bringing drugs into Fort Bend Co. jail

FORT BEND COUNTY (KTRK) -- A correctional officer is out on bond Sunday after he was arrested for bringing illegal drugs into the Fort Bend County Jail.



Naveed Mohammad Islam, 19, was arrested after an internal investigation into allegations that he brought prohibited substances into the jail. Islam had been employed with the department since 2014.



He was terminated from his position Friday after the arrest. Islam is charged with bringing prohibited substances in a correctional facility, a third degree felony.
