CHICAGO, IL -- Chicago police have closed Garfield Park after a child's remains were discovered in a lagoon there.
Police say someone made an initial discovery late Saturday afternoon.
Officers then conducted a search, which lead to the discovery of more remains.
"I'm just still overwhelmed to hear that, kids are supposed to come into a park and play - not be found dead. That's terrible," said Lovia Hoyt, who lives near the park.
Police have closed the park as marine unit investigators continue to search the area.
