Bronx drug bust nets 2 women, $5 million in heroin

WEST BRONX -- Two women are behind bars after a big drug bust in the Bronx Thursday.

Officers arrested Rosa Vasquez and Carmen Garcia after allegedly witnessing a heroin deal around 11 a.m. Wednesday in the West Bronx.

Police say the two were found with a duffle bag containing four packages of heroin, each worth about $25,000.

Inside their vehicle, officers found 15 more heroin packages with 475,000 glassine envelopes and more than two pounds of raw heroin.

The total value of the bust is estimated around $5 million.
