HOUSTON (KTRK) -- On April 8, the Thin Blue Line Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club will host a benefit for two Houston police officers shot in the line of duty last week.

Officers Ronny Cortez and Jose Munoz were shot multiple times after they were involved in a shootout with two burglary suspects in southwest Houston. Cortez, a 24-year veteran of the Houston Police Department, remains in the hospital after a bullet was lodged near his spine.

Munoz, a 10-year veteran with the department, was discharged from the hospital last Thursday.

The motorcycle club will be selling bar-be-cue plates for $10 at the Concert Pub North, located at 2470 Cypress Creek Parkway. The benefit will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Both officers have a long road to recovery, so we want to help relieve some financial burdens on them and their families," the Facebook post stated.

Live entertainment will be provided by The Mason Creek Band and Shovelhead Runway, according to the post.
