At least one dead in shooting at SW Houston apartment complex
When they arrived, they found a male and female had been shot. One of them was dead.

HOUSTON -- A manhunt is underway for the suspect who shot two people, one fatally, at an apartment complex in southwest Houston.

Police say they were called around 4:10pm to investigate a report of shots fired in the 8200 block of Sands Point.

When they arrived, they found a male and female had been shot. One of them was already dead; the second was rushed to the hospital.

Police have not yet said what the motive behind shooting might be.

Neighbors describe what they heard.

"I heard three gunshots ... and I knew right away that those are probably gunshots, so I got up and looked for my phone. About 5 or 10 seconds later I heard six or seven more shots total," neighbor Brad Groux said. "Then I guess about 30-45 seconds later, I hear a female screaming."

Residents of the complex say they don't believe either victim lives at there because it's a tight-knit community and everyone knows each other.

No arrests have been made.
