2 state troopers injured, Splendora man arrested following crash

THE WOODLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- Two state troopers were struck by an alleged drunk driver in The Woodlands this morning.

The incident happened around 12:38am on the southbound feeder to I-45 near Lake Robbins Road.

Troopers Niklas and Gonzales had conducted a traffic stop when Isaac Martinez, 21, of Splendora, reportedly struck their patrol unit from behind.

According to Sgt. Erik Burse, spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety, both troopers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands.
