TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- The body found inside a submerged car in a Tomball-area lake has been confirmed as 23-year-old Ariel Tapscott.

The black Honda vehicle was pulled out the water, matching the car Tapscott drove and earlier this morning her mother identified the body as her daughter.

The medical examiner's officer was called to area at Rosehill Reserve on Tuesday night. The lake is near the area where authorities spent the day searching for the missing Tomball woman.

Tapscott had not been heard from since 8pm Sunday, when she alerted a friend her car was filling with water on Cypress-Rosehill Road near Dry Creek in Cypress.

Earlier Tuesday, her mother spoke to Eyewitness News about her daughter's disappearance.
