Transformer fire sparks smoke and flames at Houston's Memorial Park

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Thick black smoke rising over Houston's popular Memorial Park this morning gathered some rush hour attention.

Witnesses say a transformer caught fire. A small patch of grass burned as well.

Firefighters were called to the park where they brought the fire under control.
