HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Adrian Garcia's entry into the race makes seven candidates.
They include current city council member Stephen Costello, former congressman Chris Bell, businessmen Marty McVey and Bill King, State Representative Sylvester Turner, and 2013 mayoral candidate Ben Hall. It is a crowded field in what is expected to be a race that costs each candidate at least $2 million to stay competitive.
"A lot of candidates are already showing interesting bases of support, so it's going to be an interesting few months as we watch them take shape and get their messages out to the voters," said Political Consultant Nancy Sims.
The official filing period for the Mayor's race isn't until August. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd.
