Shipping last minute
Companies working overtime to get you your holiday deliveries on time.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- These guys can be the real heroes this holiday season. They get you out of a bind.

Deliveries will be made to your doorstep in just under two hours. So, all you procrastinators out there you still have time.

At the Amazon Prime Now warehouse, the scanners are working overtime. Orders are coming in, and workers are hunting down your items from the shelves.

They'll get them into the bags and right to your doorstep. For just $8 more, it can be there within an hour.

"We know that for so many customers, they just don't have time to go back to the store right now. They don't have time to leave the house," said Allison Flicker from Amazon.

From everyday grocery and pantry items, electronics, gifts and even that unicorn pool floaty you've always wanted -- through the Amazon Prime Now app, it can all be yours.

"You just have to order before 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but we will be working on delivering those orders," said Flicker.

Just miles away at the DHL sorting facility, package sorting is in overdrive.

Thousands of packages from all over the world are being sorted, scanned and routed to drivers.

They're arriving on your doorstep during the busiest time of the year.

"The Houston market, even after everything we've been through this year is still up 25 percent as compared to this time last year," said Cynthia Clark with DHL.

The holiday rush is keeping drivers like Tyre Bradley working overtime. He says it's all worth it when he meets those on the receiving end.

"She wanted to give me money. I was like, 'no, no, no. This is our job. This is what we do.' So she just said, 'can I get a hug?' And I was pleased to give her that," said Bradley.

They're the real holiday heroes. Working until the last minute to keep your holiday as hassle free as possible.

Amazon Prime Now is only available if you are a Prime member, which costs around $100 a year.

Orders under $35 with Prime Now will incur a fee. There's no charge for two-hour delivery for orders $35 and more.

One hour delivery is also extra.
