Man dead in industrial accident in NE Harris County

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- A man was killed in an early morning industrial accident in northeast Harris County.

The accident happened around 4:30am at the Tenaris plant at E. Sam Houston Parkway near Tidwell.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says a worker had gotten off a forklift and was between the machine and a large spool when the forklift rolled forward, crushing him.

That worker has not been identified, but in a statement Tenaris said the employee was a seven-year veteran of the company.

The company's statement also read, in part, "We are collaborating with local authorities as well as conducting our own investigation. We will issue a statement with more information once available."
