HPD: Men open fire on home, lead officers on chase

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say three men fired at a home on West Tidwell this morning and then led police on a chase.

Authorities say someone in a Volvo station wagon fired into the home around 2am. Officers spotted the Volvo leaving the scene and tried to pull over the driver.

Investigators say the driver took off, leading them through backstreets on a more than five mile chase. The suspects abandoned the vehicle on Evergreen Terrace and ran.

A helicopter and a K-9 unit were called in to search for them. All three were caught.

Police found two rifles in the station wagon.

Investigator say those bullets hit a car on Tidwell. Fortunately, there are no injuries to report.
