Texans make cuts to their roster before deadline

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Texans are in the process of cutting their 75 man roster to 53 and must do so by 3pm Saturday.

So far the team has cut 11 players Friday including former third round pick Defensive Tackle Louis Nix. The team has also waived Receiver Uzoma "EZ" Nwachukwu, Linebacker Kourtnei Brown and their seventh-round pick Running Back Kenny Hilliard.

Quarterback Tom Savage is expected to be out four to six weeks with a shoulder sprain. Savage injured his shoulder after getting hit and landing on his throwing shoulder in the fourth quarter loss to the Cowboys.
