Event cancellations due to severe weather

As severe weather continues to impact Houston and southeast Texas, a number of cancellations are in effect. As more are announced, this page will be updated.

  • Due to severe weather, all Lakewood services on Sunday, October 25th including English, Spanish and Young Adults are canceled.
  • Services are canceled at The First Congregational Church of Houston.
  • The Houston Striders have cancelled Sunday's Houston Half Marathon and 10k.
  • Due to inclement weather Higher Dimension Church both the Southwest and Katy Campuses will not be facilitating worship services today.
  • The Gulf Coast International Dragon Boat Regatta races are canceled for today.
  • Both Bayou City Fellowship campuses services are cancelled for Sunday.
  • City officials are urging everyone to stay home and not be on the roads.

    Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart states that "As of this time, all Early Voting polling locations are scheduled to be open on Sunday, October 25th." Stanart reminds the public that keeping the polls open is essential and every effort will be made to ensure that voters have access to the polling locations. Early Voting hours for Sunday October 25, 2015 are 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

    Houston Red Cross has opened a shelter at Willow Meadows Baptist, 4300 Bellfort, 77035, for affected residents.

    Ferry service has been suspended until further notice due to high tide. We will keep you posted when service is back up and running.
