HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston's police chief has settled his legal troubles surrounding a crash involving a pedestrian in 2013.
James Harris sued Chief Charles McClelland after McClelland hit him while making a left hand turn in downtown Houston. The chief was cited for failing to yield the right of way, but Harris later sued for negligence.
"There were some reports that I was inattentive. I was not. I was not on the phone. I was driving my vehicle. Accidents can happen," McClelland said.
The terms of the settlement were not released.
