HOUSTON (KTRK) -- On Houston's East End in an old rice mill, you'll find a place unlike anywhere else in town.
The building now known as "The Silo" is a gathering spot for artists, musicians and those with a green thumb. Ken Crimmins created the space about 15 years ago. Since then, he's seen "The Silo" grow in popularity. It's also the resting home for many of the city's award winning art cars.
"We sponsor art and drama that's not going to be seen anywhere else. It's unique," said Crimmins. "They're just resting. They can be reanimated with just a little bit of gas, a hot battery, and they're gone."
Monday evening, "The Silo" is hosting a redevelopment meeting for the 5th Ward. Next month, the Splatter Fest Horror Film Festival awards will be there. For more information about the venue, visit their Facebook page.
