CHAMBERS COUNTY, AL (KTRK) -- An Alabama teen got a front row seat to a wild police chase and crash during a ride-along with authorities.
Jared Hinkle, 16, was in the front seat of the squad car recording Wednesday night when a high speed chase ended with a head-on crash. And it involved the squad car he was riding in.
"It all happened so fast," Jared said. "Last thing I remember, he was headed straight toward us and I was like, 'Oh my gosh. What's gonna happen next.'"
Jared was fine and the chase suspect was arrested.
Jared's dad is a deputy with Chambers County and he wants to follow in his father's footsteps, even after his scary caught-on-video experience.
