The Houston Barbecue Festival recently announced the 26 barbecue restaurants participating in this year's festival. The lineup represents both the best barbecue that Houston has to offer, as well as the diversity of barbecue styles that is unique to this city known for a mélange of international cuisines and traditions.
"Houston barbecue continues to grow and evolve," says J.C. Reid, festival director and co-founder. "Still, we are of the belief that bigger is not always better. With that in mind, we've slowly added new barbecue joints over the years, and this year's lineup is truly a snapshot of the great things happening in Houston barbecue."
The much talked about BBQ festival will be held at the NRG Park, Green Lot on Sunday, May 22nd (1-5pm). Some restaurants include: The Brisket House, Blake's BBQ, The Brisket House, Cork Screw BBQ, Gatlin's BBQ, Brook's Place, Killen's BBQ, Ray's BBQ Shack, Lenox Bar-B-Q, The Wooden Spoke, Pizzitola's Bar-B-Cue etc. There are also some new participants this year, such as, Tejas Chocolate Craftory, Killen's Barbecue, Jackson Street BBQ, Harlem Road Texas BBQ and BBQ Godfather.
