Five Below stores open in the Houston area

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Five Below is moving into the Houston area to save shoppers some serious cash!

The store doesn't have anything priced over $5, but it carries things that sell upwards of $20 elsewhere. All items are on trend and marketed towards teens and preteens, or as spokesperson Liz Romaine says "the teen in all of us."

Eight new locations opened for the first time in Houston Friday, and shoppers packed the grand opening celebrations.

The stores carry seasonal items, such as towels, boogie boards, and sunscreen that will rotate throughout the seasons. There are also popular staples that shoppers can find every time they go into the store.

The tech section has some of the best deals, with smartphone and tablet cases, chargers, and headphones all for under $5. The products are high quality that other merchants carry for much more.

Athletic enthusiasts can find deals on sporting equipment. Whether it's yoga mats or brand name basketballs and footballs - there's something for every athlete.

Another hot item is the store's nail polish selection. There are several on trend colors to choose from, and three bottles are just $5.
