The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many people's schedules, meaning they are working from home or waking up later.

If you're one of those people who've had to shift a bit, we're still here for you.

We're still on the air at 4:30 a.m. for the early birds, but for those just wiggling out of their pajamas (or maybe getting settled into them because no one can see your whole outfit on a Zoom call!), we now have an extra hour of news starting at 7 a.m.

So grab your cup of coffee for conversation about what you need to know for your day and what you missed while you were sleeping.

Then in primetime, check out another hour of updates and weather when Eyewitness News streams at 9 p.m.

Celebrate Lunar New Year with us

From Feb. 11 - Feb. 13, your streaming home for Lunar New Year celebrations is right here.

ABC13 is teaming up with the Chinse Community Center for virtual celebrations honoring Lunar New Year 2021, which is the Year of the Ox.

This will include behind-the-scenes looks at cooking, traditions, art and performances by local artists and groups from across the cultural spectrum.

Here's the schedule.

Feb. 11

4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m: New Year's Eve reunion dinner

Feb. 12

4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m: Lunar New Year celebration

Feb. 13

2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m: Customs and traditions through art

You can look back on the 2020 celebrations, prior to the pandemic, with a roundup of Localish specials centered on Lunar New Year. Look for them in the "Top News" and "Binge This!" collections.

What is a wintry mix anyway?

We're glad you asked because you're probably going to be hearing the words "wintry mix" a lot around here for the next several days.

The ABC13 weather team is tracking arctic air headed our way by Valentine's Day, which could really plunge temperatures. We're talking 20 degrees and hard freezes here, folks.

But it's possible that all of that cold air could bring us some wintry precipitation such as freezing rain, ice, and snow.

Black History Month

We are celebrating the achievements of Black Americans and those of African descent in our Black History Month Collection.

Among the titles:

• HPD assistant chief to be Waco's 1st Black police chief

• Ivy Leaf Farms: Eliminating food deserts one at a time

• Goode Looks barbershop: Fresh cut and life lessons

• A look into Rosenberg's Black Cowboy Museum

You'll also find the rich stories of people like Sugar Land native Mark Linen, the founder of Brotha Bakes.

Linen went from being a truck driver to a baker, deciding to follow his passion full time in 2019.

Now he's churning out cakes that pay homage to African-American culture. For example, he has a red velvet cake called Reddie Murphy and a banana pudding cake playfully named Banana Ross.

"I want to highlight Black culture. It is so beautiful, it is so diverse. I want people to see that. I want a young Black child to walk into a store one day and see a logo on a jar that resembles them," Linen said.

That's just a sample of what's in this collection. It will be updated all month long.

Get answers about the COVID-19 vaccine

This will be included every week because it's just too important not to mention. This entire section is dedicated to keeping you and your family informed.

As part of that effort, each week, ABC13 is dedicating a half hour special to the vaccine rollout. Stream the specials live and if you miss them, they'll be featured in this collection.

13Unsolved series

This is a series you don't want to miss and could help keep the cases alive of people right from the Houston area. In 13Unsolved, reporter Courtney Fischer explores cases that have gone cold for decades in hopes of finding answers for families desperate to know what happened to their loved ones.

Courtney recently filed another cold case that she has been researching and working on for nearly 10 months.

It's the story of Patricia Kaye Humphreys, who disappeared more than 45 years ago after she went to a northwest Houston drive-in with her sister and never returned home. Six months later, Patricia's remains were found in the woods behind a church off Hopper Road, about 18 miles from the drive-in. Her killer has not been found.

You can also watch in-depth interviews from investigators, who sometimes share new elements such as photos and previously unreleased surveillance video.

When Hope Ann Moore vanished, it didn't make news. She disappeared more than 20 years ago, leaving behind a husband who detectives think knows more than he's letting on.

Princess Blue is the woman with no name - just a set of bones and a class ring found on the side of the road. Someone missed her. Someone knew what happened.

Audrey Lee Cook was murdered and dumped in the infamous Texas Killing Fields.

These are just some of the cases covered in hopes of finding new leads and ultimately, closure for families.
