

CITGO Distinguished Scholars
The 2025/26 Distinguished Scholars Program was created to assist students planning to continue their education at a two or four-year university. Forty scholarships were awarded to select class of 2026 graduates from the Alief, Houston, and Spring Branch Independent School Districts (ISD). These Distinguished Scholars are being recognized not only for their academics but also for their excellence in one of the following categories: Beating the Odds, Career & Technical Education, Communications, Performing & Fine Arts, S.T.E.M., Service & Leadership, Spirit, or Student Athletics.

About:
Carol's artistic journey began in her childhood in China, where her grandfather celebrated her drawings as masterpieces. Moving to America brought language challenges, but Carol found a voice through art. Growing up working alongside her parents in a Chinese buffet, she developed a deep appreciation for hard work and resilience. She founded CADI, a club that merges art with community service and therapy, using creativity to uplift others. Carol's awards and leadership in art competitions reflect her talent and dedication to making a positive impact through her work.
