HUMBLE, TX (KTRK) -- Tens of thousands of local parents and students take in high school football games and some listen to music as the teams warm up. But some people were offended recently when explicit lyrics ended up being played before one local game.

"I don't have a problem with music being played, I have a problem with these lyrics," Dana Steed said.

Steed says this play was the wrong move.

"The 'n' word was used, the 'f' word was used," she said.

Steed got to Turner Stadium early, by accident, for Humble High School's last home game against Crosby.

"And when I thought it was over, there was a pause, and that's when the second set of lyrics come into play," Steed said.

The song, played off a pre-recorded CD, is called "Slippin" by Waka Flocka Flame.

"Both teams on the field and both sets of coaches on the field; the band was in the stands. They had eighth graders with them," Steed said.

One look at the lyrics and we had to blur a lot of the words.

"The lyrics were very explicit," Steed said.

It's hard to disagree.

"Somebody needs to listen to these things that are gonna be put in a press box and played at a public venue," Steed said.

"She's absolutely right. That music should not have been played. It was a mistake and it will not happen again," Humble ISD spokesperson Jamie Mount said.

Mount hasn't received any complaints about the song, outside of the one we brought to her attention. She told us what went over the loudspeaker was an edited version.

"But even the edited version of the song was not acceptable," Mount said.

And it was cut off by a school administrator 51 minutes before kickoff.

"This CD was not vetted as thoroughly as it needed to have been vetted," Mount said.

The song, which came from the coaching staff, has been ejected, and the district is apologizing for any offense it caused.

"It casts a bad light on Humble High School. It casts a bad light on Humble ISD. And it casts a bad light on the community," Steed said.

Humble High School played in Dayton Friday. Steed is a season ticket holder and says she got there early again -- this time, on purpose.
