Top off your Easter outfit with a fancy hat
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you still need to complete your Easter outfit for Sunday, you might want to consider a big, fancy hat to top it off.
Part of your Sunday's best for Easter is about the pastels, the shoes and the big church hats!
"The hat at Easter time is called the crown on your head," Cart'Air Boutique owner Carolyn Land said.
If you live in Houston and love big hats, then you probably know about Land and her boutique in north Houston. The store has clothes, purses, shoes and hats that cost as little as $69 and as much as $900 for all occasions.
Land and her husband, Charles, have been in business for more than 30 years. They started selling items out of their home in the 80's, then opened up their first shop in La Marque in 1991.
Their dream of opening up their shop has flourished and now when ladies need a fancy hat, they think of Cart'Air Boutique.
"We have one-of-a-kind hats," Land said.
For some women, a big hat is a must for Easter Sunday, brunch and Mother's Day -- some hats big enough to need their own area code. But it doesn't have to be. The styles range from simple to spectacular.
"I go to different hat shows. I go to New York, Vegas and Paris looking for special hats," Land said.
Land said the last couple of weeks leading up to the Easter holiday is one of the busiest times of the year for the store. Ladies also love shopping at the Cart'Air on Mother's Day and the Kentucky Derby.
Land said she loves helping women pick out outfits that make them feel beautiful, and the hat can make you stand out and complete a look.
"We dress you from head to toe," Land said.
