Car chase comes to crashing end in west Houston

HOUSTON -- A car chase has ended in a crash in west Houston.

Initial reports state the chase started around 2pm when a Houston Police Department officer tried to pull over a black BMW on Synott, but the suspect took off, sparking a chase. The driver went along several neighborhoods before crashing about 12 minutes later in the 14900 block of Branch Forest.

The suspect bailed out of the vehicle but authorities were able to detain him. We don't know if anyone was injured.
