Man found dead in ditch on Houston's south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a man found in a ditch in on Houston's south side early Tuesday.

Darryl Banks, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7900 Rock Rose.

Police say Darryl Banks, 55, was walking west on Red Bud at about 1:30am when he was confronted by two suspects, described only as a tall black male and a black female. Banks had a dispute with the suspects at which time they shot him. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction. Banks was later found dead a short distance away at 7900 Rock Rose.
