HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Three suspects are facing charges for allegedly shooting a teen after they were kept out of a birthday party last night in northeast Harris County.

It happened around 11pm at a home on Illene near Gaston.

Deputies say about two dozen people were gathered at the home. The suspects showed up and began fighting with partygoers after they weren't let in.

"In the meantime, she's telling dispatch where she was and deputies managed to find her, get to the apartment and are now detaining three suspects for this aggravated assault," said Deputy Thomas Gilliland with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

An 18-year-old man was shot through the hand and into his chest. At last check he was expected to survive his injuries.

No one else was injured.
