HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston stores and breweries are reacting to Thursday's news that Anheuser-Busch is in a deal to buy Houston-based Karbach Brewery.
On Facebook, a number of stores said Karbach merchandise will be pulled from store shelves after the news.
"In light of recent events, we will be puling Karbach chocolate BBH from our anniversary this Saturday," wrote the Petrol Station on its Facebook page. "We are replacing it with a real local Texas brewery."
"It's a sad day," said Kevin Floyd, owner of The Hay Merchant, on its Facebook page. "I wish I could say I was surprised....but I'm not."
"My first impulse was to dump it all," Floyd said. Instead, he is selling everything "for as cheap as possible."
"We are working hard to pull all the kegs out of the cellar, and as soon as we have a full draft list, we'll post it here."
