Man charged in child's dragging death
Justin James Forsyth, 37, of Friendswood is charged with 2nd degree felony intoxication manslaughter

BACLIFF, TX (KTRK) -- A little boy is dead and a Friendswood man is charged with killing him in a drunk driving motorcycle accident.

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office says at about 7:30pm Sunday, a four-year-old boy was struck by a motorcycle in the 4300 block of 10th Street in Bacliff. They say Justin James Forsyth, 37, of Friendswood, was travelling south on 10th Street when he struck the child and dragged him about 15 feet.

The boy, whose identity hasn't been released, was taken to Clear Lake Regional Hospital where he died of a severe head injury.

Authorities say Forsyth had a blood alcohol content of .26 -- more than three times the legal limit of intoxication. Forsyth was arrested and charged with 2nd degree felony charge of intoxication manslaughter, and held at the Galveston County Jail on $100,000 bond. Investigators determined parental supervision did not play a factor in this tragic accident.
